What a memorable time for H.E.A.R.T. at the Wortham Center last week! Long-time friends and supporters and new ones gathered to celebrate 20 years of service to adults with I/DD.
We honored Juan and Isela Garcia for being champions of our community. We also honored eight H.E.A.R.T trainees with MVP awards for their outstanding work throughout the year. Mayor John Whitmire shared remarks expressing his support for H.E.A.R.T and participated in the MVP award presentation along with other H.E.A.R.T. partners.
Jennifer Reyna of Channel 11 did the honors as emcee.

H.E.A.R.T. Founder and Board Chair, Jane Borochoff, and her family were also recognized for founding H.E.A.R.T. 20 years ago and for their continued participation and support today.
H.E.A.R.T’s Executive Director, Janet Deleon Young expressed appreciation for H.E.A.R.T.’s community of supporters. “A heartfelt thank you to each one of you. Today’s luncheon is an opportunity to celebrate what we have accomplished together and to renew our shared commitment to creating meaningful impact.”
