Virtual Vocational Skills Training

H.E.A.R.T. is taking its innovative job training program online! New participants with intellectual/developmental disabilities will learn the eight essential employability skills; communication, including the different types of communication and how and when to use them; teams and teambuilding; how to develop your leadership potential; basic money management; and how to use the skills you have learned during your daily life activities. We will also teach important skills of daily life during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as social distancing and mask-wearing. There is no cost to attend this program. Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received.

Online Training Dates: August 3 – September 25, 2020

Class Options Available:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays: 1:00pm-2:00pm

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have an Intellectual/Developmental Disability (diagnosis required).
  • Must have access to the internet and a device to participate in daily Zoom training.
  • And must live within the City Limits of Houston.

Cost: There is no cost to participate and no application fee.
