Virtual Emergency Preparedness Series

Funded by Verizon through a grant from The Arc of the United States, H.E.A.R.T. is piloting a virtual Emergency Preparedness Series starting this summer. This series is tailored to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities to educate them on recognizing various types of emergencies; basic actions to take during an emergency and ways to find help to keep themselves and/or their families safe; and planning for those emergencies to the best of their abilities.  There is no cost to participate in this series!

This virtual series will run from July 23th through December 17th, 2021.  Participants will participate in a weekly Zoom session on Fridays from 12pm-1pm, except during the week of September 6th, it will be Monday-Friday from noon to 1:00pm, and a special virtual event on Saturday, September 11th.

Qualifications:

  • Must have an Intellectual/Developmental Disability
  • Must have access to the internet and a device to participate in Zoom sessions.
