Summer Internship Coordinator (ExxonMobil CSJP)
As part of the ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program (CSJP), H.E.A.R.T. is offering an eight-week paid internship with a pay rate of $10.00 an hour. The intern will complete 35 hours per week for the opportunity to earn up to $2,750 total during the summer. Intern must currently be enrolled as a full-time (minimum of 12 credits per semester) undergraduate student and be a returning full-time undergraduate student in the fall of 2022. Family members of board and staff of H.E.A.R.T. and family members of board, staff, and retirees of ExxonMobil or Sunwest Communications are not eligible.

Intern will assist with The H.E.A.R.T. Program Summer Internship Program located inside the Houston Foood Bank. Intern will assist with teaching the TCDD Youth Advocacy Training Curriculum virtually and on-site; provide administrative support, such as updating the curriculum files and maintaining participants’ timesheets; and work on hands-on training activities with the program participants. VTS-Vocational Training Specialist
This position involves cashiering at exciting events such as the Houston Rockets basketball games and making pizzas at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. The best part? You are actually helping others in this position by being a role model and a helper for those with special needs who are learning these jobs. In this position, you will be assisting with vending machines and concessions training for adults with special needs, traveling to job sites and supervising their work, assisting with teaching job skills, and providing other duties as needed.

Experience with cashiering, vending machines, and/or concessions will be a plus. This job involves FREQUENT evening, weekend, and holiday work with occasional daytime hours as well. The job is scheduled based on 40 hours per week. The salary is $15/hour + DOE.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Must be able to be insured on a driving insurance policy. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must have a high school diploma or GED.

VTS-Vocational Training Specialist (HFB)
This job is based primarily at the Houston Food Bank located at 535 Portwall Street and involves working on vending machines, food preparation, warehouse activities, food pantry, community gardening, and other programs to teach adults with special needs different skills. You will also be assisting with vending machines and concessions training for adults with special needs, traveling to job sites and supervising their work, assisting with teaching job skills, and providing other duties as needed.

Experience with cashiering, vending machines, and/or concessions will be a plus. Experience driving in a professional setting will be a plus. The salary is $15/hour + DOE.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Must be able to be insured on a driving insurance policy. Must be between the ages of 25 and 70 with a clean driving record. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and submit to random drug testing throughout employment. Must have a high school diploma or GED.
