The H.E.A.R.T. Program is participating in the 2021 Houston Open Birdies for Charity® Program!
What is Birdies for Charity®?
The Birdies for Charity®, presented by THINK Neurology for Kids is a fundraising program is to give local charities (i.e. H.E.A.R.T.) the opportunity to generate contributions through the Houston Open by soliciting and collecting pledges of one cent or more from the general public and/or corporate donors for every “Birdie” (meaning a score of one stroke less than the declared par of any given hole at a golf course) made by the PGA TOUR players during the Houston Open, November 8-14, 2021.
The Houston Open administers the program, invoices all donors and turns over 100% of all funds collected to each designated charity. The fundraising campaign will launch Wednesday, July 14, 2021 and conclude November 14, 2021. The Houston Open will award the top fifteen charities with the highest total of donations and four randomly drawn charities with an additional bonus.
There are two ways to donate to H.E.A.R.T. via the Birdies for Charity program:
PER BIRDIE DONATION PLEDGE
Make a pledge of one centPer Birdie Donation or more for every “Birdie” made by the PGA Tour Pros during the Houston Open. The minimum birdie pledge is $.01 and the maximum pledge is $1.00. The last day to submit a pledge is Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Last year, 1,221 birdies were made at the Houston Open. For example, if 1,500 birdies are made during the 2021 event, here are the totals for some typical pledge amounts:
With your pledge or donation to H.E.A.R.T. through this program, you are eligible to enter the “Guess the Birdie” contest. Guess the total number of birdies that will be made by PGA Tour Pros during the 2021 Houston Open. The individual who guesses the exact number of birdies made at the 2021 Houston Open will receive a chance to win a suite night at a Houston Astros game for the 2022 season! In the case of ties, Tournament Officials will choose the winner by random drawing.
